The management of the national beauty pageant in Tanzania, known as Miss Tanzania, has changed.

This step came last night, Tuesday, April 14, 2025, at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam, at a ceremony where The Look Company director, Basila Mwanukuzi, officially handed over the management of the pageant to Leah Richard Mwendamseke.
The event was attended by various stakeholders in the entertainment and beauty industry in Tanzania, including actors and even stakeholders of the Lamata arts and entertainment company owned by Leah.
Speaking during the handover, Basila said there was a lot of competition for the position, with some who were eager to compete coming from abroad with the intention of running the pageant.
Miss Tanzania Pageant Management Changes
However, she explained that she was satisfied with Leah’s ability, believing that she has the qualities and vision to take Miss Tanzania to the highest level.
For her part, Leah said she was grateful for being trusted and given this important role, promising to continue creativity and quality in future competitions.
He stressed that he will aim to make positive changes that will attract more participants as well as raise the profile of the competition both nationally and internationally.
