Various Entertainment Events Witnessed on Jamhuri Day

Those who attended the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium on 12-12-2025, as well as those who watched on television, were treated to a variety of entertainment.

National celebrations are often graced with traditional dances from various communities and choral songs, but today, the Presidential Permanent Music Commission (PPMC) changed things up; they were not there.

The usual entertainment of children who wear uniforms and draw various pictures on the field while reciting poems and singing songs that go with the slogan was also absent.

PPMC featured modern entertainment, opening with a comedy by comedian Captain Otoyo, who talked about Kenya and tourism, which was the slogan of this year’s celebrations.

His comedy even had actors who played the role of local tourists, as the government encourages Kenyans to visit various tourist attractions.

When he finished, Otoyo invited the emcee, who invited musicians like Elisha Toto, Dola Kabary, Guardian Angel, Trio Mio, and Iyanii to the stage.

Others who performed with their contemporary music were the group Watendawili, who sang their famous song “Cham Thum,” followed by Sammy Dee, who sang his song “Baba Hoiyee” in memory of the late Raila Odinga.

Moji Short Baba, who sings contemporary gospel songs, was also on stage, where he enlivened the audience with his song Vimbada.

All the musicians accompanied their entertainment with dances from dancers who displayed modern styles of dance moves. stage,
