The Journey and Background of Singer Nyashiski

Kenyan recording artist, singer, and songwriter Nyamari Ongegu, popularly known as Nyashisiki, is a bongo and hip hop artist from Kisii, Kenya.

Nyashisiki was born on April 8, 1984, and has been in the media industry since 1999, totaling 24 years in the industry.

Artist Nyashisiki has become a charismatic artist with very high standards in this art to be able to withstand the waves of music. His musical star began to shine when he was in high school, where he met artists Robert Manyasa and Collins Majale in 1999 while he was at Nairobi High School.

While in high school, he was able to release a hit called “Freek” in 2002 under the very strong Ogopa DJ label, followed by “Maniax Anthem,” hits that were very popular.

After that, the artist Nyashisikii began to rise and become very well-known by fans who loved him and saw him as an artist of great charisma in the year 2004.

In 2009, Nyashisiki began singing as an independent artist and clearly demonstrated his talent as an artist who can compose and sing beautiful poems.

Some of the hits that the artist has released are as follows: Perfect Design in 2023, Bebi Bebi, Mungu Keke, Malaika, Free, Hayawani, Hapo Tu, Lifti Me Up, and Utazoeya, among others.

During his journey, Nyashisiki received several awards, such as the Pulse MUSIC Video Awards in 2016 and best African Act in 2017 and in 2018; in 2022 he was awarded best male artist in East Africa, among many other awards.
